which vpn is trustworthy from an actual security standpoint not just marketing
yeah, it's tough to really trust any vpn these days with all the marketing fluff, feels like they all say the same thing until you dig into it. but honestly, after looking around myself for a while, ipvanish does seem to be one of the few that actually backs up their claims, especially with the serv

Mullvad always has great latency and I can load web pages & download things very quickly with it, so why does speedtest(dot)net say it's slow?
Last I know speedtest site you mention is in partnership with a OLD NOT popular VPN called IPVanish so most likely they will tell you your VPN is slow..... but hey buy OUR VPN ..... it is a sales tactic to trick you just ignore it.

Best cafe to remotely work from with good wifi
Yes just off the back of the comments. Whenever using WiFi in a pub;icy place you MUST use VPN. Also if you are an Apple user turn off any airdrop or open comms channel. NordVPN, IPVanish are 2 good reputable options to use but of course others are available. If you are working on sensitive info mak

'Our users deserve better' – PrivadoVPN set to leave Switzerland on privacy grounds. The VPN provider told TechRadar it's in the process of moving its operations to Iceland
Privado is affiliated with Pango, according to pitchbook.com profiles, and Pango is the company who was responsible for all the Hotspot Shield data sharing, traffic redirections and other shady stuff. They apparently also are still running on the old Ziff Davis and IPVanish infrastructure. IPVanish

Using VPN to connect to certain country increases Torrent speed?
Because they are US based, they can be court ordered to collect user data. This has happened to other "no logs" VPNs in the US before, such as IPVanish, Riseup, etc.

SurfShark is garbage. Won't load even with DuckDuckGo App Tracking turned off
IPVanish got bought by Kape years ago. Kape was a manufacturer of known malware. So good on you for changing up.

NordVPN has begun profiling its users!
Mullvad has had a good record thus far. But, so did IPVanish until we learned they were logging in the past. If a capability exists, it can be used. So, you have to trust that they won't ever do that. "Don't trust. Verify." is a core belief of the cypherpunk movement, and to date, only one VPN let's

Every "no-logs" VPN is asking you to trust them. Why are people still okay with that?
Not necessarily. HideMyAss provided connection logs that identified a user in a Sony Pictures case. EarthVPN's logs were handing over by their data center which deanonymized a suspect IPVanish provided connection logs to DHS. PureVPN handed over user data to the FBI. ProtonVPN admitted to performing
