Dell managed to acknowledge their error in abandoning XPS, with a comeback. When will HP do the same with the Spectre x360 line?
Dude what? My one and only spectre x360 is still going strong going on year 9..maybe even 10! Battery still amazing, may go another 5! (If charging ports survive)

Laptop for school dilemma
I have an M3 MBA and an old HP spectre x360, which was kinda the premium version of the envy back when the line existed. Both are great. HP was far more user repairable after the battery went bad and the keyboard eventually gave in. MBA is newer so it’s not fair to compare further. I suggest trying

Lenovo ThinkPad Vs HP Elitebook
The only good ho I've had was the spectre x360. Took it everywhere with me and ended up giving to a cousin in Mexico years ago. Still uses it and hinges aren't broken. Can't speak on other models. I would still go thinkpad. Function over looks and function always looks more professional.

Laptop recommendations
I got a refurbished HP Spectre x360 when I first opened my practice eight years ago. It came with a stylus and folds to become essentially a tablet. However, I've never actually used it that way. It's been rock solid for me and is almost (but not quite) ready for its first battery replacement despit

Mechanical engineering student looking to upgrade to a surface pro any recommendations
IMO, no current surface would be good enough for the MechE coursework I had. CAD programs alone pretty much necessitate the need for a dGPU and the last surface they made which might act as a All in One for course work, note taking, etc was the Surface Laptop Studio 2. If you're just looking for not

Debian based distros vs RH based distros
Thanks for the engagement! I recently ordered a new T14 Gen 6 AMD Ryzen AI 7 PRO from Lenovo with Fedora as the OS. I currently run Pop OS 2t.04 on my T480s and have not had any issues and appreciate the Cosmic DE. I have used Ubuntu with Gnome DE and didnt like the way the customizations were lacki

I used an openSUSE Snapshot to fix something serious for the first time ever!
Just installed 6.17.4-1 and all seems to be back to normal. This is on a HP Spectre x360. I believe the problem was related to a bug in the intel VMD controller.

Yoga Pro 9i for a mechanical engineering student
I just bought a Yoga Pro 9i Aura 16" with the tandem OLED screen, 32gb ram, and the 5060 dedicated video card. US retailer Best Buy had it on a flash sale last week for $1699 USD. Coming out of a 5 year old HP Spectre x360 with a 10th core 7 and 16 mb of ram, this Yoga feels like a beast and is very

Yoga Pro 9i for a mechanical engineering student
I'll take a look when I get home later. The chassis seemed very stiff when I set it up yesterday. Didn't notice any flex or noises. I did do a couple benchmarks with Cinemark (against the Spectre x360). Complete annihilation. So far I'm impressed. I'll definitely report back with any squeaks, creaks
