Got an upgrade
I'm a simple person, I see Sundaras I upvote. Not really familiar with on-ears but I assume you'd have to spend a fair bit more to approach the detail and textures of the Hifiman cans.

Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen + Headphone Amp + DT770 troubleshooting
If the headphone amp volume knob brought in the distortion, then it isn’t capable of driving the Beyers either. Sell it at FB Marketplace so you don’t have to try to figure out the ground loop that caused the humming. So you think you want “flat” headphones? Unfortunately there aren’t any. It’s quit

Does headphones choice make a huge difference?
I've always looked at it this way. If you don't have too much money, IEMs are the best. If you have some money to get HD600s or similar, get it. If you have even more money, get loudspeakers. If you can only afford the KSC75 I just recommend you get a $30 IEM or save for a Sundara, or Edition SX whi

Help me choose which headphones to order today
I’d recommend the Hifiman Sundara. Let me break down exactly why it’s my pick. I used the DT 880 Pro for years. I tried every calibration trick I could to get it sounding better, but eventually I decided it was time for a replacement. I went back and forth between Sennheiser, Audio-Technica and plen

Best Heaphones <$400
all the hifiman planars are pretty great value in their respective price brackets: HE400se, SUNdara (not much of an upgrade over HE400se), Edition XS (most meaningful upgrade), Ananda NANO but extremely power hungry, you need a FiiO K11 or similar

Headphone EQ settings
The HIFIMAN Andana / the newer Andana Nano have a pretty similar sound signature to the eq'd Momentum 4s (at least from what I can tell), with the exception of some less bass (which you may find with most open backs, but you can eq that pretty easily if you really need it). The HIFIMAN Sundaras are

Upgrade from Magni Modi
Sundaras, since you want to try planars. You can find them around $200 used pretty regularly. Otherwise, HD600/650/660S are all good (I can't speak for HD660S2) and can be copped for around the same price.

Best beginner audiophile headset setup?
Knowing your budget would help. With a low budget, 80–90% should be spent on the headphones and the rest on the amp/DAC. I’d say that for under $300 USD, I would look at the FiiO FT1 for closed back headphones and HiFiMAN Sundara (for open back) or, if the budget allows, a refurbished deal on the Hi

Best beginner audiophile headset setup?
I'd skip HD 600 for sure, 6XX is good value for $200 but if you are fine with getting Hifiman Sundara > 6XX and EDXS > Sundara, so grab an EDXS 560S is also good option, great price, so is Audio Technica ATH-R50x and FiiO JT7 but if you are fine with getting Hifiman you can't beat hifiman sound, the
