Sundaras, since you want to try planars. You can find them around $200 used pretty regularly. Otherwise, HD600/650/660S are all good (I can't speak for HD660S2) and can be copped for around the same price.

Hifiman Sundara over-the-ear headphones(Full Planar), or a R2R DAC(Cayin RU7, FiiO K11 R2R or FiiO K13 R2R). For IEM's, Hidizs MP145 Pro would be a nice Planar upgrade.

At the end of the day the HDB 630 are portable ANC, call enabled, all-in-one headphones. Whether $500 justified the purchase depends very much on the use-case that I might find for these cans to fill. If you have never had planar drivers before, you should do it. I wanted to try some and got the Sundara, loved them, moved up to the Edition XS. Very happy for now.
