Thule Subterra 2 21L or Aion 28L?
Had the previous-gen Subterra 21, sold it because the functional capacity felt way less than advertised. Replaced it with a Gregory Rhune 22 and use this as my daily office bag and have travelled with it. Might suit your needs: Easily stows under airplane seat as your personal item. Separate admin c

What’s the best backpack for work that won’t feel like a hiking pack?
I love my Gregory Rhune 22; I use it for work and for my PhD, carry two laptops, coffee, lunch, book or two, and a pair of gym clothes. It was sub $150 and it’s super comfortable, walk with it about 2-4 miles a day.

The Gregory is amazing for work, it has a laptop sleeve and it can comfortably carry a lot of weight on my back because the shoulder straps are padded really well. The Osprey I don’t use for work because it’s not as comfortable w
