I don't think you need to go ultralight, there are compromises you'd have to accept which you may not want to deal with, and yet, you can do better than that Paragon 60 at 3.72lbs. Two night-max trips don't really require ultralight. If i was sticking with Gregory, i'd look at the Focal 58 at 2.65lb

Is your current pack either of those brands? I personally prefer Gregory I have NEVER had an Osprey fit me. I have a Paragon 58(for when my pack weight gets over 30#) and my SO has a Maven 55. I have a Deva 60 for mountaineering . I have a ULA Circuit that I use for just about everything I'm closer

My pack has a zipper at the bottom for the sleeping bag. Means it can "go at the bottom" but is immediately accessible. Gregory paragon 58

Maybe take a look at the Gregory Paragon 60 which is probably your best bet under $400 which is the lighter, more agile cousin to the Baltoro The Osprey Aether 65 is also quite a good option to consider with it being slightly over the 60L but has reallyyy good warranty! Oh! Yes I see that now. I think you could make the 50 work, personally. I used a copper spur ul1, had a pretty bulky sleeping bag, and a VERY bulky and luxurious extra long, extra thick pad and could still do 7 nights of food in a Gregory paragon 58. Ultimately it's up to you, and you won't really k
