Hardware mod, how possible is this?

I think you would be better off buying a GPD Win Mini.

Playing TF2 the way god intended

GPD Win Mini, heads up they're expensive as hell. I saved up for a month or two for this one and it's used AND an obsolete model (according to the company it works great and it only came out 2.5 years ago).

37 Years of Mechwarrior Gaming

It's a GPD Win Mini (2023)! With SteamOS 3.9 and some plugins (lsfg-vk and decky-framegen), MW5 does 70 - 120 FPS easy for around 2 hours of game time, on a device that's marginally bigger than a 3DS

handhelds are a bust, will we ever get a mini (sub 8in) laptop to rhythm game on?

GPD has been making small "laptops" like that for a long time (see: GPD Micro PC 2 - GPD WIN Mini 2025) but I imagine the keyboard is too cramped for that

You all asked, so here's some Flip Deck gameplay!!

The clamshell Design is the reason why I bought a GPD win mini over a steam deck. If the steam deck was clamshell I would probably have gotten it! Tho I doubt it would hold up the same performance and power of the GPD now that Ive got a taste of it and also windows which I prefer over linux. 🥲

why can’t I pass 17 fps on schedule 1 but easily 70 fps on a game like high on life

Thats a real rough game to run. Im trying to play on my gpd win mini 2024, on a 8840u / 780m 32gb ram and still rough to run.

Why do some of you still keep and use GPD devices over other handhelds?

The GPD WIN MINI 2025 is exactly what a gaming handheld should be. Small enough to bring it anywhere while powerful enough to play the latest games (within reason). The physical keyboard is also a VERY WELCOME bonus when using the device for work too.

Happy 3rd birthday to my Win 4

I have gpd win 4 6800u too. Great handheld. But i am already changed battery two times and changed the thermal paste to PTM7950. It realy helps with reducing temperatures. However i changed it gpd win mini

What can the Ayn Thor realistically do?

Bro what? The AYN thor can emulate basically everything outside of wiiu and switch perfectly. Even with the switch library, most first party nintendo games run excellent. When you get into PC emulation, thats when things get scary. But I would say that you can basically emulate almost every PC game

Should I or should I not

My guy there's no miracle portable for you. You will always need to try to squeeze some frames out of a tiny box powered by a tiny battery with a tiny fan and heatsink. Or you could just settle for the frames it can do without getting into a rabbit hole of tinkering and play some games in pure bliss
