Incline walking
Add a ruck sack instead. I developed bilateral achilles tendonitis in my 50s due to a lack of estrogen. I've mostly gotten it better but it still twinges if I spend a long time at a steep incline. I can maybe handle 2-3% and even then I can feel it a bit. I added a rucking back and some weight a yea

Thinking of starting rucking with my new pup, Patagonia, Zeuz or GORUCK?
Don’t buy GoRuck plates and particularly do not pay for transatlantic shipping. Yes4All plates are cheap on Amazon Germany and if your cart is over 100€, you get free shipping. Just have to be careful with dimensions. The following assumes Rucker 4.0 with Yes4All plates: A 20lb plate will fit in the

Started this week ... could use some gear advice
I’m your exact age. A couple inches shorter. A year ago I was tipping the scales as high as 248. Tried to run. Too big, too old, too slow. Started rucking around the first of July. GoRuck 4.0 with the Yes4All plates mentioned above - 35, 10 and 5 so I could mix and match depending on what I was doin

Bag question
I have a 25 liter GoRuck Rucker 4.0 and it is perfect for me. I’m not a GoRuck diehard or fanatic by any means. No hate or shame on any bag but here is why I like my bag. -I only use it for rucking and exercise. It has room for other things too which I use for a jump rope, a tension band specificall

what ruck/weight vest do you use?
If you don’t plan to ever do anything other than the weighted carry for your dog walks, check out the Goruck Ruck Plate carrier. It can carry one short plate, so 20 or 30 lbs. Simple and minimalist. Get the yes4all ruck plate, should be half the cost of the goruck plates. The Rucker 4.0 is worth the

I don’t ruck over 20lbs..
Shorter duration, incline if your trails allow it. Ankle weights for extra training for stability, lower core and abs. The shoulders will adjust. I use GoRuck 4.0. I've noticed significantly less back pain with it. But yes, even in 40° I break a sweat after about a mile.

Thinking of starting rucking with my new pup, Patagonia, Zeuz or GORUCK?
My 2 cents. Newish to formal rucking (about 8 months) but a 20 year longtime backpacker who owns several packs and has trained for my trips with my 65 liter pack and throwing in barbells and towels There is nothing wrong about adding various weights and stuffing to any pack and hitting the road. I a

Another which bag post 🫣
The GoRuck Rucker 4.0 is a piece of exercise equipment, and not a EDC backpack. Having said that, perhaps a 16 or 18L Bullet Ruck might be more appropriate and I've picked up the 18L Bullet Double Compartment recently and it holds quite a lot, more likely than its stated capacity. So a standard Bull

Osprey hiking pack vs actual rucking pack?
I started with my Osprey and then moved to a GoRuck Rucker 4.0. Nothing wrong with your current approach, other than stress to the Osprey. Some things to consider: There are significant benefits to the method without a hip belt. Your upper body gets more challenge and these postural and stabilizing

What do you carry?
I love my GoRuck 4.0. I use a hydration pack and do 25 lbs./3 miles while my dog runs free at the local doggie park. Killing two birds with one stone.
