Just came here to say thank you, because I have the very same issue (Pixel Buds 2a connected on Windows 10 work seemlessly except when using Google Meet) and your trick of reconnecting the buds after starting the call works well for me. It is annoying but at least I can have calls now!

I would just keep the discount for something else that is sold on Google Store at "actual street price".
