Which monitors to upgrade from Kali In-8's

IMO I think you should save up a bit more and invest into a true set of high end monitors. If you can stretch that budget higher with more savings, you’ll have a set of monitors you won’t have to replace for many years to come. If you stick with the $2000-$3000 budget, I have had great experiences w

What’s a piece of gear that everybody seems to put on a pedestal with glowing reviews and “endgame” hype, that you bought, lived with, and then eventually sold or gave away that you haven’t missed for a second?

Yeah, the same happened when I hooked up 8330A and 7350A and ran the calibration and room correction. I was nothing short of astonished, I recall thinking that it's like I'm actually hearing my favorite recordings the first time. Songs I thought I knew well had sounds and effects in them that I'd ne

Apple AirPods Pro max 2 for mixing

My Genelec are the 8330A with the optional GLM calibration/room correctoon. I mostly use the Max with Bluetooth unless I’m recording or the project I’m working on is struggling at the 512 buffer size that bt let you work on. I’ve used them with my Monotor with the audio cable, but it’s not worth the

Where should i place my monitors? (3d room sim)

Thats interesting, why did you got so much treatment if youre still mixing on headphones? Mainly for recording, but also for checking mixes and for when I work with clients in person And are there specific things you would still mix on monitors? Not really, mainly just use them as a reference someti

At what point does audio quality stop improving and just start exposing your soul?

Mid level is like <3000 €/$ for a stereo pair in my view. My basic recommendation would be a Genelec 8330A pair and 7350A + the GLM kit for room correction. This is going to cost in that ballpark and it is about as precise as you'd ever need, though SPL limit may require upgrading the monitors and s

Is there really a big difference between passive and active speakers?

I by no means have full experience on this sort of thing. I used passive setup with basic class AB amplifier from Yamaha for like 20 years, paired to various Amphion Xenon 2 speakers, something near their top model from 2000s, until one day I decided to throw it all out and start from scratch. I bou

Just discovered My Boy Arlo! What is everyone listening to? Enjoy the weekend 🎵😊

These Genelecs are the 8330a. Great speakers, but I can't really play them loud as I live in an apartment, and I don't have a sub. But they sound really good, though! The HE1000SE I can crank up the volume, and I like to listen loud :) So I mostly prefer headphones and these are soo good with some E

Share how you came to realize that you are an audiophile

I guess just out of principle I wanted the best possible audio. I come from somewhat musical family, so it's always been fairly big part of my life, and I've always been like that. For me, the real process took three distinct phases. As a teenager, I had no money, so I tried to DIY it out of crappy
