Thinking about pulling the trigger.
I switched from the Garmin Vivoactive 5 to the Amazfit Active 3 Premium. The only thing that’s a bit disappointing is the BioCharge and stress meter; Garmin’s Body Battery and stress tracking often matched how I actually felt much better, whereas Amazfit’s BioCharge feels a bit superficial at times.

Garmin Vivoactive5 or s50
I have the vivoactive 5, and use it for golfing. With all functions enabled: Yes you can download courses (I have used in UK and USA no problem) You can only connect/download when you are in close proximity to the course and you have the accompanying app open on your smartphone. It recognises you sw

Amazfit active 3?
I switched from the Vivoactive 5 to the Active 3 Premium, and I’m really happy with it. The Active 3 has significantly more features, and the build quality is much better too (sapphire glass, metal lugs). The four buttons are also very convenient while running. I’ve found the offline maps, which the

Best mapping app for the UK to be used for multiple activity types?
My vivoactive 5 shows a simple route track. Not a hugely detailed map, but enough to know if you're following your planned route or not.

Which watch would you recommend?
I have a Garmin Vivoactive 5 (still offered for sale but it's now a slightly older model). It is not cheap, but it is one of the cheaper Garmin options ($250 USD) and you can do pretty much everything you need for beginner/casual running. For C25k, I use it to program my run/walk intervals and colle

My fastest 100k yet. By almost 20 mins. Was hoping to be a bit faster, but the sun had other plans during the return leg.
I sweat a lot. Much more than average men my age. So a lot of water during long rides. Whenever I plan on doing a long 75k+ ride, I carry 2 bottles with me so I don't have to look for places to refill too often. One 1L bottle on the bike (that you can see in the image) and one 750 ml one in my backp

I used to have a Garmin Fenix, but honestly once I scaled back my triathlon, I decided it was overkill. I recently got a Vivoactive 5 and I'm very happy with it! It works very well for running, strength, yoga, and spin class. The battery life is really good, I typically charge it once every 4 or 5 d

Best smartwatch for health + fitness (long battery, all-in-one tracking?)
I also have a Vivoactive 5 that I like a lot. There aren't really a lot of good aftermarket apps, watch faces, etc. on the app store, but that does mean I'm not constantly paying extra for the watch. Also, Garmin does have a subscription, but it just adds some AI features that aren't very necessary.

Which golf gadget was actually worth keeping in your routine?
FWIW, I use the golf app that came with the vivoactive 5 watch. It's probably not as much info as the dedicated golf watches, but it definitely uses the watch's GPS as it adjusts when I walk away from the cart while the phone is sitting in the cart.
