Vivosmart 5 is the current model. I have one too. No subscription required. Any Garmin watch with the body battery feature is pretty great

Basic Tracker

If you just want step counting without carrying your phone, go basic. I use panther eclipse it tracks steps, optional HR/sleep, lasts days, no subscription hassle. fitbit inspire or garmin vivosmart are simple options too.

Best tracker options for my needs

If you’re trying to get away from subscriptions, Garmin is probably one of the safest ecosystems. Something like the Garmin Vivosmart 5 or Garmin Venu 2 covers HR, sleep tracking, steps, and pulse ox without locking stuff behind a paywall. Samsung users also sometimes go with the Samsung Galaxy Watc

Best tracker options for my needs

If you want no subscription, check out the Garmin Vivosmart 5. Good tracking and works great with Samsung phones.

Should I still invest in Fitbit or is it a dead brand?

I used to be a daily Fitbit user, but once Google gutted the entire platform I left. I use a high performance Coros now. However, a family member wanted a basic step and sleep tracker - my recommendation for them was the Garmin Vivosmart line, with just the free Garmin tier.

More expensive Garmin watches also show HRV and have downloadable pacing watch faces, but I wanted something lightweight which I'd actually wear day and night, and didn'

Monitoring Tools

I have the vivosmart 5 and there is no subscription required. The only thing I regret about it, is that you cannot directly measure hrv with this model. (The watch does measure it, but you cannot directly see it and it uses it to calculate the stress factor and body battery). Although the body batte

Fitness Tracker Recs for First Time?

Since you’re already an Apple user and want to avoid subscriptions, a Garmin Vivosmart 5 is a great slim option that nails those health metrics without a monthly fee, though the Apple Watch SE might be worth the extra cost for the seamless payment and connectivity features you’re looking for.

Opinions on Visible? Is it worth it?

I used Garmin then Visible for a while, now I'm back to Garmin. The subscription for Visible is expensive and really adds up over time for something that was not a lot of benefit to me. The activity log seems useful but I'm too tired to keep up with logging my activities. Garmin doesn't require a su
