Anyone do the 5k today for the SFM?

Depends what watch you’re using, and how accurate its GPS is. They all vary by brand and model. Apple, Garmin, Coros,Suunto, etc. I believe Garmin forerunner 970 is one of the most accurate GPS wise.

best watch for runners that can help with marathon training?

Very good answer. OP - for first time runner (and also a veteran one) basic watches will get the job done. For Garmin their running range is called Forerunner - as you go in price you get music, breadcrumb trail, then full maps , a flashlight and titanium bezel with sapphire glass on the top 970 mod

Fenix & Forerunner

I have a Fenix 7S Pro SS and a Forerunner 970. I prefer the Fenix in bright sunny conditions, (MIP display) especially during outdoor swims, and during strength workouts because its software is simpler and more straightforward than the 970 and doesn't interfere with strength workouts by stupidly for

best smartwatch for running, what are marathon runners using these days?

Garmin Forerunner. Great GPS, fantastic battery life, lots of running data, and models at a wide variety of price points From the new Forerunner 70 / 170 models to the mid-range 570 and the top 970 model Or you can buy slightly older models like the 165, 265 or 965 Check out DC Rainmaker for reviews

MIP lovers: what would you do when Garmin quits making MIP screen watches?

I'd switch to Coros.Frankly I feel like I'm tolerating Garmin, lately. Every single one of their new watches comes with less battery life than its previous models, the Fenix lineup is getting ridiculous, they didn't even bother making a small size MIP F8, the Venu 4 is now a 2 buttons only watch, al

Potential switch from Garmin

I own both the COROS Pace 4 and the Garmin FR 970. From my own experience: GPS performance is mostly the same. Both perform very well in most conditions, and I haven't noticed any significant differences. Each has its own unique user experience. The FR 970 (not sure how different this is from the FR

Upgrading to the AWU3 from AWU1 or swtich to Garmin series?

Garmin is more sports watch. If you have notifications turned off I would recommend you Garmin. Look for Forerunner 570 or 970 which are designed specifically for runners or Enduro which is designed for outdoor sports and battery optimization. Main reasons to Garmin switch: battery life physical but

Forerunner 570 or 970?

Also, does 570 and 970 contains this new firmware look like on Venu 4? Yes, starting with Fenix 8 all Garmin wearables now share the underlying SW platform (but not the features - those still differ depending on the model). Apart from the more durable build, 970 gives you 4x more onboard storage (wh

Bike computer worth it?

Battery life is a big one if you go on longer rides or spontaneous rides where your phone might die running Strava or other apps. GPS accuracy is generally better on a dedicated cycling computer than a Smartphone, though not all computers and if you have a good smartwatch, it may outperform the comp
