Forerunner is just as good as a Fenix for most things, including triathlon. It’s lighter and sits lower on the wrist. I had Fenixes for 8 years then converted (to the 970) and nothing has been lost from the features I need and use for long distance triathlon training and trail running.

How's your eyesight? I went small with the Fenix 7S Pro SS and I can't read the display without my glasses.So I bought the Forerunner 970 (it's 47 mm) and I love the display.It's not too big.

Take a look for a Forerunner 970. I was in same situation and finally go with FR970 - same screen size as Fenix 8 47mm but looks way smaller and lighter. Very comfortable.

Yea.. That’s why have to go with Forerunner 970. Much better for my wrist and lighter.

I just got the Garmin Forerunner 570 and love it. If you want maps the 970 might be a better fit. However I went with the 570 because of my smaller wrist size.

Honestly the ocean band feels so much comfortable as compared to Trail loop.
