It's anecdotal evidence, not a study. We had a Venu 2S water damaged and a Fenix 6X Pro. Garmin declined to help because it was no warranty period anymore. My friends Fr945 also got water in it. He got an FR955 with discount. And I have a couple friends, who had their Garmin ruined by water issues.

As not only a long time Garmin user, but a former Garmin employee, what a weird way to glaze a now overpriced watch. When the Fenix was 600 bucks it was reasonable, now?! Absolutely not worth it. In your case, as your needs are already filled, the only way to find out is to buy the Mips version and test it. It would be more like "I like it better" type of choice, vs needs.
