Can't recommend the forerunner 55 now. I've had it for 3 years and the battery deteriorated faster than I thought. It has also started to randomly shut down DURING the workout which mega sucks. Have you looked at Garmin Forerunner 165? I am suggesting 165 because it is the cheapest of the more modern Garmin Forerunner models. If you are ok with an older model I believe Garmin Forerunner 55 is still solid, and Garmins last quite a long time. Of course more expensive ones have more features.
