I’ve been back and forth between Garmin Fenix 8 (solar and amoled), and my AWU2 so many times. I’ll probably get banned from Amazon and Garmin as I have returned too many watches. I love the Garmin battery life and that’s about it. Nothing seems to beat the iPhone/AWU integration and the incredible

Me! Fenix 8 Solar 51mm and now I use my AWU3 exclusively. Ultra-distance trail runner, triathlete, strength training, rock climbing, etc. There are two things you need to realize to make the switch: Garmin’s fancy metrics are generally not actionable. All you need is resting heart rate and a basic s

As a Garmin user, to be honest I'm really sad about direction that Garmin is taking. Prices went up, at least here in PL, Fenix 8 Pro Amoled costs 1.5x of Apple Watch Ultra 3, while to use Satellite connection you need to have 9eur/month subscription (when apple provides it for 2 years for free). Bought my first Garmin in december 2024. It's Garmin Epix Pro gen 2 47mm. In general it's just awesome. But right now I'm thinking of switching it for Enduro 3 in 2026. Cheaper version of F8 Solar, and I don't need diving functionality or speaker/microphone. So in general... Yes probably MIP is more

On the downside, battery life is markedly shorter. According to Garmin, the 51mm Fenix 8 Pro offers "up to 27 days" of battery life (15 days always-on) with OLED but "up to 10 days" (4 days always-on) with micro-LED – a reduction to about one-third. That's a lot shorter battery time for a smart watc

This is the part they don't realize. The only garmin watch with cellular connectivity is the Fenix 8 Pro. When using bluetooth, cellular, wifi, and satellite their battery life is actually worse. They actually believe a watch with cellular, gps, satellite, bluetooth, and wifi is supposed to last wee

I guess you could argue it replaces a Fenix 8 + inReach mini, so it's around £1200 of "value" from that perspective... which is about the price of the AMOLED version that includes satellite connectivity. microLED is an 'emerging" technology and there is a high failure rate during manufacturing (whic

I moved down to a 47mm Fenix 8 after using 51mm mostly since moving to Garmin. It's so much nicer on the wrist. I actually prefer the 22mm band size (was a big part of the switch for me) but also that you get the big display (on AMOLED) in a small bezel.

If you can buy from a place like Best Buy and can have a couple weeks to try it out, I'd do it. that being said, I have used MIPS until my Fenix 8 AMOLED which I've now owned for a week. if battery life isn't an issue for you, here are some other considerations: - how old are you and how is your eye

Kudos to you.I got my Garmin Fenix 8 51mm Amoled a couple weeks ago. I now realize how pathetic my Apple Watch was.
