Best Hiking Watch under £350
I spent lots of time researching which one would be best and it was a toss up between the Garmin Fenix 7 and the Epix 2, the difference being the EPIX has an OLED screen and 15 days of battery and the Fenix has rhe AMOLED and likely twice as much. Decided on the Epix Pro Gen 2 on sale at HSamuel and

Is buying a Garmin GPSMAP actually worth it?
I picked up a Garmin Epix 2 two years ago for £430 and it came with all the maps of europe. I use it on basically every hike. I love it and it makes route planning way easier.

Vertical 2
I have a Fenix 8 and a vertical 2 and here is what i think. Sleep tracking on the Suunto doesn't work for me. Sitting around and watch tv in the evening is considered sleeping with Suunto. Therefore a lot of metrics are not right since i sleep much longer on the watch than i really do. For hiking i

Fenix 5 user since 2019
Chalk and cheese really! I've had the F5, F6X and Epix Gen 2 (F7 AMOLED basically) since launch in Jan 2022. I'm waiting for the F9. The difference from the F5 to the F8 will be vast on the feature front, but they both record your actives similarly. The GPS accuracy difference between the F5 and F8

Apple Watch and Garmin Why not keep both ?
Exactly how I approach it. Apple Watch Ultra (first gen) on one wrist, Epix Gen 2 (titanium/sapphire) on the other. Apple Watches, for me, represent the best-in-class smartwatch experience for Apple users. It's also a cellular backup (safety, streaming audio) for me. Part of that is how much Apple l

Need fitness tracker advice
Maybe I would have liked the forerunner, but ended up opting for the epix pro gen 2 when it was on clearance. Absolutely love the maps and use the flashlight more than I thought I would.

Ct10 sensors with g82 GPS
Not the G82 but I use the Garmin Epix gen 2 watch with a full bag of ct10 sensors. Love it and how seamless it is. And it's a full smart watch with notificatiins, Spotify music downloads and bluetooth earbud connection without phone, etc. etc., as well as tracks all my cycling, running, canoeing, hi

Does GPS work better on newer models?
I had the Fenix 3 HR Long Time ago and it's GPS was much more accurate than Fenix 6. I owned the Fenix 6 from 2019 to 2025. It was the worst GPS on a Fenix I have ever used. It has Dual GPS but from Sony. And before that it was Mediatek as I remember. Garmin changed with newer Generations at Enduro

Does GPS work better on newer models?
Yes it does. I had a fenix 6 pro sapphire and the gps accuracy was bad. The 6s and 6x didn’t seem to suffer as badly as the 6 by the way, there was some speculation it had to do with influence case on reception. While not everyone would take issue with that, I did and replaced it with an Epix gen 2

Do I really need solar?
While I haven't tried the AMOLED version, I have both the solar version and the Epix Gen 2 Sapphire. Long story short, the Epix collects dust and I don't miss the AMOLED screen even a little bit. The Grey/MIP screen is so easy to see and I absolutely love that its "on" all the time. With my Epix I f
