Which Smartwatch should I choose between the amazfit balance 2, the garmin fr 165 and the fr 255
I tested Garmin Epix 2 Pro and the Balance 2 for a month for running and sleeping. I decided to keep the balance and sold the Garmin. Garmin app is really bad, not intuitive at all, hard to find things, etc. Zepp is more intuitive. Still need some work on the algorithms but it works just fine. balan

My first smartwatch. Fenix 8 it is. Hoping it will not disappoint
It will disappoint you with heart rate during any gym, weight, machine training. May be good for runners but for anything like training body spikes and drops on a heart rate are crazy... Favorite bike computer?
Garmin Edge 1050. Expensive but the larger screen is much easier for navigating. 1040 can probably still be found for a bit less. If you just want to collect data though it’s not really needed. I used mine for navigating in new areas but most of my rides are in areas I know well. So it’s overkill. B

Those of you who switched to garmin, was it worth it? Particularly for strength training?
I went back to Fitbit from my Epix gen 2. It was big, heavy and clumsy and I work shifts so the sleep tracking simply didn't work. Just my opinion, Fitbit are cheap, light and work well for my needs.

Best device for strength training?
I use the Balance 2 for strength training. Caveat, most of my work is on a Bowflex Revolution, the rest with dumbbells and bodyweight (pushups, pullups). The detection of the start of a set and rep counting is outstanding. Much better than a Garmin Epix Gen 2 Pro. exercise type detection is good for
