Can’t decide: Fujifilm X100VI or Ricoh GR3/GR4 – will I regret not going Fuji?

You will 1000% not miss the look of Fuji photos. Ricoh GR3/GR4 photos are consistently lauded as sharper than Fuji photos. There are also a number of recipes for the Ricoh cameras, most notably Reggie's Portra. When you factor in how portable the Ricoh cameras are and how they are much cheaper than

Convince me not to buy the X100VI as a beginner

Your use case sounds exactly like mine, plus taking photos of my wife and kid. I read through and watched everything Fujifilm, then decided on the X100VI as my first and hopefully my only camera forever. I'm pretty certain this single big purchase will lead to me spending less money overall in the l

Ricoh’s GR IV launches in September for a much steeper price than its predecessor. What was a $900 camera in 2019 is now a $1,500 one in 2025.

Knowing that people are still shelling out way more than MSRP for the Fujifilm X100VI, I think Ricoh was smart to increase the price (including tariff or not). We may hate the price, but we all know that many people are going to line up to get this camera still.

Crazy price for the GR IV (European price)

Premium cameras with big sensors, fixed lenses and small bodies: Leica Q3 (5950€), Sony DSC-RX1R Mark III (5099€), Fujifilm X100VI (1869€)... Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Sell M8.2 for X100VI - worried I might regret it (not a usage issue)

Yeah honestly that’s a really practical way to look at it. That’s kind of where my head is - less about what’s “special” and more about what I’ll actually use without thinking. The ease of AF and just being able to hand it to someone does feel like it would change how often I shoot. Also a good poin

Do I really need the X100VI? - What camera to get?

Have you considered the Fujifilm X-E5? With the XF 23mm f/2.8 it’s very close to an interchangeable lens X100VI. I bought one in January and am enjoying a great deal. It sits at the top end of your budget but it seems like it fits with your wants/needs. I can’t speak to any of the other options, as

Is this what it means to own a Leica M? — Leica M11 + Thypoch Simera 50mm f/1.4

I definitely cut my teeth on photography with Fujifilm. I had a Canon M6 II to begin with in 2019, but got caught by the X100V hype in March 2020 and fell in love with it. I captured a lot of life with that camera, which convinced me to sell the Canon for the XH2S (my main side gig is actually filmm
