Are Focal Bathys headphones a ‘buy it for life’?
True $300 is about bottom of the barrel when it comes to something I'd classify as audiophile. I tend to focus more on the TOTL models where the Focal Stellia or Utopia are very good. I also prefer wired over wireless as well. If mobile I'll use IEM's over wireless.

Any chance of Samsung bringing back 3.5mm headphone jack in high end phones?
My point is just that the most 'high end' Bluetooth headphones are things like the Apple Airpods Max. Which are pretty expensive, but their sound quality (as headphones) doesn't match up with the significantly less expensive wired headphones like the Sony MDR-7506, let alone something actually from
