Rumours are true. RME repair service is legendary.
The focal shape 65’s are great, hope you enjoy them I’ve had my pair since 2018 - still sound incredible!!

Near-field studio monitors suggestions
i was in the same boat last year and went with the KH 120s - they're insanely detailed for the size. since you've got room in the budget i'd also check out the Focal Shape 65 or the HEDD Type 07. both give you a different flavor to compare against. having two pairs to reference helped me dial in mix

Upgrading monitors - the sea never parted for me. Did they part for you?
I got that moment when I upgraded from Adam t8v paired with two T10's subs to Focal Shape 65 with Sub One...I was just listening the music for the entire week and I was mesmerized.

Which studio monitors pair best with the RME Babyface Pro FS for House music production and DJing? Looking for warm, punchy low-end instead of an overly clinical sound.
Focal Alpha 65 Evo is a good shout, in my opinion. Focal is pretty 'fun' sounding but you can still make mixes that translate well. Other interesting ones from Focal for you: Focal Alpha Twin Evo (more bass due to dual 6,5 inch drivers). Could be my best pick for your situation. Focal Shape 65: Simi

If the RME isn’t adding color in your opinion, do you think that the Motu was then? Since either of them has to for your assessment to be true. I still don’t think new monitors will give you what you want, but if you are dead set on buying new speakers, Kali is nowadays the first one you should cons

Best monitors under $2,500 a pair for office space (music and video editing)
The 306P is actually good if you can’t hear the amp noise. I’ve owned JBL 305P, Focal Shape 65, Genelec 8030C, and 8341A. Would probably go Focal for the more pleasant aesthetics.

Are studio monitors bad for casual listening?
It's going to be one of those "it depends" sort of things, imo. I personally enjoy listening to music on the same system I do my engineering work with, where I have a pair of Focal Shape 65 monitors. I don't like super "hyped" systems, and while the Shapes aren't perfectly flat, they're still pretty

Focal Shape Twin vs Alpha Twin Evo - or something else ?
Focal Shape Twin or Focal Shape 65 and a SubOne (but out of the budget) cannot go wrong with both options. Level of details and a spectacular sound stage, cannot find negative points about them. Enjoy in new speakers.
