Upgrading monitors - the sea never parted for me. Did they part for you?

I got that moment when I upgraded from Adam t8v paired with two T10's subs to Focal Shape 65 with Sub One...I was just listening the music for the entire week and I was mesmerized.

Tidal High-fidelity streaming

I have focal's shape 65 with two SubOne for me it was eye opening upgrade.I think Qobuz have quite good Psy library and playlist as well, however you can always find that someone is not represent in qobuz. I ditched spotify because of the reasons as many do.

What’s a mixing habit in Ableton you had to unlearn to finally get better results?

Agreed. Roll off at 60hz is horrible. Get Focal Shape 65 or Adam/Genelec equivalents

Are studio monitors bad for casual listening?

It's going to be one of those "it depends" sort of things, imo. I personally enjoy listening to music on the same system I do my engineering work with, where I have a pair of Focal Shape 65 monitors. I don't like super "hyped" systems, and while the Shapes aren't perfectly flat, they're still pretty

EQing Monitor Speakers vs Standard PC Speakers

Sounds like you expect studio monitors to sound somehow worse than hifi speakers. I have no idea why though. All my sounds (DAW, Spotify, YouTube, TV, PS5, etc) come through Focal Shape 65 studio monitors. I’d be absolutely devastated if I had to use any kind of hifi speaker for any purpose. If you

Focal Shape Twin vs Alpha Twin Evo - or something else ?

There is a sound difference comparing to Twin and Shape series, however Evo is way sonically better than brands within same price bracket. What I'm trying to say,if you compare Evo and T8v (I had setup with T8v and 2xT10's) evo is another quality class, however sound stage is not so generous as with en

Deciding on which studio monitors to purchase for a beginner producer looking to future proof

I also have the Focal Shape 65 mentioned here. Solo series has been discontinued. If you plan on putting your speakers close to a wall the shape series is the way to go. They do lack some low end if you’re making EDM so I recommend the matching Focal Sub One to go along with it, only if you get thos

Help choosing studio monitors for a small bedroom - Genelec 8020 vs ADAM A4V (or other options)

A4v is harsh at high end, someone like it someone do not. For the same price range you have a better option like Focal Alpha Evo Twin or Focal Alpha 80. Edit: I listened A4V in a studio and I did not like it.Still with both options I do recommend a subwoofer, with Focal Evo Twin it is not necessary bu
