Apple Music exec said the thing about lossless audio that we were all thinking
I just got the Focal Clear MG’s a couple of days ago and I agree. I’ve had high quality equipment before but these are next level for me. They really do expose the mix for what it is. If it’s a bad mix or a compressed mix it’s pretty clear to hear and simply doesn’t sound good. In fact it almost sou

Looking for a more resolving complement to the Bokeh Closed
Thanks, I would not rule Focal out at all to be honest. Before moving to the Bokeh I had a bit of a journey through wireless headphones. I came from the Sony WH-1000XM6, tried the B&W PX8 S2 which I found too boomy with a bit too much treble or sibilance, then the Audeze Maxwell which I actually rea

HD600, HD800S, or Alternative?
If you want a better HD650, then consider the Focal Clear MG. Completely different than Arya or HD800S, more in line with 600 series but with far more slam (dynamics) and better bass extension.

Is it just me, or has YouTube’s audio quality become unbearable in the last few days?
Interesting. To test I've just listened with high-end headphones to "Bon Iver: Full Concert | NPR MUSIC FRONT ROW". It sounds exactly the same to me, which is: excellent. I do listen to a lot of concerts on YT, but haven't heard anything changing. To be precise: I'm playing the video on my Macbook,

What headphones do you use to listen to black metal?
Focal Clear MG headphones paired with a JDS Labs Element IV DAC/Amp. That’s my home setup and it rips. For the office/travel/etc., I have Bose QC 35’s which are perfectly fine and super convenient.

Complimentary headphones question.
Not sure what your budget is, and this might not be the sound you're looking for...but Focal Celestee are a really well-balanced closed-back headphone. They are highly detailed, but not overly so - they have a very fun, engaging sound with balanced highs, mids & lows. Cost should be around $1k. Foca

Worth $1,000 More? Original Bathys vs. Bathys MG (Still in Return Window)
It’s only my own opinion, discolure I own the Bathys (and a few other Bluetooth ANC headphones including competing Senn HDB630 and Momentum 4). I went into my hi-fi store last week for a speaker repair and I took the time while waiting to compare the Bathys (which I own and know well) and the Bathys

PX8s2 vs Focal Bathys Mg
I have a huge collection of headphones, but wired headphones are not my main focus, though I already own or have had a lot of them. Ocal Celestee, Elegia (my favorite), Hifiman XS... I currently have Focal Hadenys (open) and Focal Azurys (closed). They are nice and portable, but I still prefer the E
