upgrading from PX7 S2 to PX8

The Px8 are comfy and have a nice warmth, but they're tuned like shit. Objectively. Every review you read will mention the muddy bass - maybe not in those words, it might say "the bass extends up thru the midrange" - nice way of saying, it's muddy as fuck. The px7 s2 is what sparked my interest in h

The RTINGS review of the HDB 630 is finally out!

Competition is always a good thing, if you leave Focal as is, it would just do another small bump\refresh on the Bathys MG, call it Bathys MG Pro, and ask for 2k. HDB630 is not perfect by any means (I returned mine), but it is a wakeup call for other companies that they need to a lot more to ask for

What is a product that people consider "High End" but is actually trash?

I’m something of an audiophile and didn’t give Sony the credit it was due. I bought the Sony wh-1000xm6 and they sound as good or better than my Focal Bathys MG, Hifiman or B&W headphones. They’re my go-to now.

IS MOMENTUM 4 STILL WORTH BUYING TODAY? CAN IT STILL COMPETE WITH THE NEWLY RELEASED HEADPHONES THIS 2025 IN TERMS OF SOUND QUALITY?

I bought them a year and a half ago aprox, and dont ask why, but I also own Airpods Max, XM5, QC Ultra, Airpods Pro 2, XM4 and have tried regular QCs and Sonos Ace. My favorite sounding headphones have been the Airpods Max and the Momentum 4, specially with sound personalization, though, the Momentu

Bought the Px7 s3 but I'm returning them. I have a question about the Px8 s2 for those that have both...

I own both and find that the ANC on the PX8S2 to have slightly less cabin pressure but more heat. So there's a trade off regardless of your choice. The only ANC headphones I've used that don't have cabin pressure either have fairly weak ANC for their price bracket e.g. Focal Bathys/MG version or com

HDB 630 vs Bathys OG (vs PX8 S2)

I've owned these sets. The PX8 S2 is energetic out of the box; the recessed midrange, and boosted treble and low frequencies are how most consumer headphones are tuned, which is why some listeners will have issues with sibilance on certain sets. The PX8 S2 are especially strident; I prefer the PX7 S

Bought px8 s2… wow!!

Glad you are having a great experience with the PX8 s2. I had them for a while and was underwhelmed by their performance. Noise canceling was (to me) poor and was not impressed by the sound quality. That said, I currently have the Focal Bathys MG and Bose ultra gen2. The Focals sound great and are v

Sadly gonna return them (Px8 S2)

I had the same issue with these. Try the Focal Bathys MG. Better sound and far more comfortable. The Focals stayed and b&ws went back.

Headphone Recommendation

I can highly recommend the px8s2 with the Sennheiser btd700. I tried focal Bathys mg and didn't find the sound signature as pleasing as the b&w. This is peak sound quality for me after trying out a huge pile of wired and wireless headphones. But always try before buy. You might have a fully differen
