The PX8 S2 is energetic out of the box; the recessed midrange, and boosted treble and low frequencies are how most consumer headphones are tuned, which is why some listeners will have issues with sibilance on certain sets. Competition is always a good thing, if you leave Focal as is, it would just do another small bump\refresh on the Bathys MG, call it Bathys MG Pro, and ask for 2k. I have PX8 S2 McLaren edition, Bathys , Bathys MG, Clear MG, Elegia, Celestee, Hadenys, Azurys, B&O H100 and a lot of others headphones. I Also compared all of them against PX8 S2.... if you have the money to spend , Go for Bang Olufsen H100, they have leather, Amazing ANC, They are comfortable, etc

My first introduction to Focal was at a local audio store. I tried every headphone they had on display there, ranging from the Bathys through the Clear MG to the Utopia. I've added the latter two to my collection since then, and they are two of my three headphones. I absolutely love Focal.
