Sennheiser 620S on sale at 299$ in Canada

The closest competitors are from Focal: Azurys (a bit more expensive even when the HD620S is at full price) and Celestee (quite more expensive). The lower mid priced closed back headphone market does not have many alternatives. We could add the cheaper and worst sounding HD569 or HD598C (closed vers

HDB 630s

Naah, HDB 630 is a better value, no matter how you calculate it. The only thing open-back can give you is the open-back soundstage experience, which…. is close to the HDB630 anyway. I got HD 560s and Focal Azurys and I’d always go back to HDB 630, they just sound very clean and the soundstage is qui

Why do I feel like IEMs sound better than over-ear headphones?

Two weeks ago I had a chance to first time in my life listen to the true high end, Nostalgia Audio Durandal and Hercules Audio Moses. Now It’s hard to unhear those hahaha. I like both over ear headphones and iems, However iems without a doubt do offer more value per $ spent. I still have and listen

Desperately need help

I’ve tried all you mentioned and even more (1990 pro mk2, 900 pro x, 990 pro x) - all of them have great big pads but clamp force is too strong, it wasn’t comfy, this is specific to Beyerdynamic. Hd 600 or 650 are good, but also have higher clamp force. In terms of comfort for casual listening for 1

I'm thinking of buying the Sennheiser HD 480 Pro, but there's a problem...

To me the isolation isn’t quite as good as an HD620S or 99 Classic 2, but it’s notably better than a Focal Azurys. If you can enjoy your 560S in there, the 480 will be fine.

I really think that Focal messed up with the pad material of the Azurys. I sold mine ultimately because it was too soft and pillowy despite it’s graph.I think that Hybrid pads would both isolate better and make the bass snappier and more tidy, with better top end clarity.

I'm thinking of buying the Sennheiser HD 480 Pro, but there's a problem...

Isolation was not that big concern of mine, it was enough with music on. The lacluster dynamics were though. I heard so much praise for „focal dynamics” and Azurys is just NOT that. I recently had a chance to try their older screechy, plastic model the Focal Listen and that thing HAD those dynamics

For those who own both the Sennheiser HD 480 Pro and 490 Pro, which one is better?

MDR-M1 is slightly warmer and darker than the 480s. It very accurately represents Sony's house sound. It's a headphone I like very much, but it is in some ways both better than the 7506 it spiritually replaced, while being a completely different headphone that some 7506 listeners may not like nearly

Choices are good.......

Anyhow, I’m unfortunately not able to afford that kind of collection. But I’m thinking of going the HE1000 way, however got recently curious about ZMF and Focal as well. Although my only Focal ( that I sold ) was the Azurys which was super Mediocre. Do you have some experience with the lower tier mo

Sennheiser 620S on sale at 299$ in Canada

Nice! I've little experience with Senns wireless models, but I've also owned every single modern wired Sennheiser, and multiple units of them. The HD 620S on my head sounds much closer to an HD 560S than most HD 600 units. The midrange is thin and lean, and there is a slightly boxy characteristic. T
