Well, the EDM means hefty bass, so the KPH40 seems makes sense. Given the Samson mentioned, seems like you'll use these largely at home. Critical listening
Any good planar usually handles EQ well, but if you really want separate headphones then personally I would get a cheaper dynamic for warmth and a good planar for neutral/technical listening.
