The reason they cost a subscription is because they use cellular to transmit the gps location to your phone. That costs money. Fi’s claim to fame is battery life and size. Everything else is marketing fluff. The accuracy of the 3+ is good enough and it’ll get you within 15-20 feet of where the collar is on lost dog mode.
