Red Fellow One Espresso Machine [$1599]

Love mine, but I did get the extended warranty (new product, not sure how it will hold up). Some small(ish) known issues though... Volumetric mode is set badly out of the box and needs adjustment if you want to use it (I don't, so it's just off anyway), there's a fair amount of water waste at startu

Continue to wait for fellow espresso series one, or move on to something else? [$3,500]

lol this thing always getting hate on here. I preordered mine as soon as I saw it mostly because of how great the Aiden has been for us. My first espresso machine was a vintage dual switch La Pavoni Europiccola. Bought it on eBay in 2018. It’s the only espresso machine I’ve ever owned. I learned how

First Machine [$600-2000]

Depending on your wife’s preferences, there may be a disconnect between you two. I assume she wants a machine that can easily produce an espresso shot. As you upgrade to a better machine with features like flow control and PID, the ceiling for espresso increases, but floor is lower. Therefore, unles

Turned my Wendougee Lita into a (poor man's) Decent — v2 with a proper UI

I am very tempted by this machine, and seeing people like yourself doing things like this makes me even more excited. With the Wendougee Lita and what Fellow has done with the Series 1, all of the advanced features are becoming available for the masses.

New setup

The decent is my favorite home espresso machine IF you want to prioritize modern and light roast espresso. If you are mostly a medium dark - dark roast person it doesn’t really matter which machine you have after a certain point. Most darker roast espresso performs well with the standard 9bar flat s

ASCASO Steel DUO PID vs FELLOW Espresso Series 1

Short answer (my opinion): If you are more traditional or casual with your espresso then go with the Ascaso. If you are more creative or like to experiment with your espresso then get the Fellow ES1. Long answer (my reasoning): I’ve had the ascaso for 6 years now and it still makes excellent espress

Espresso Series 1 feedback

Been loving the es1 so far. It’s my entry into espresso and has made the learning process pretty straight forward. Took me only a few shots to familiarize myself with the puck prep steps and df64 grind settings but now I’m pulling great tasting shots. I’m sure they’re not perfect but taste pretty cl

Need recommendations on an espresso machine for a beginner [$2000]

I think the Fellow ES1 or Meraki are good starter options in that price point with relatively low heat up times. Breville bambino is a good starter option to learn too. If you go that route you can buy a much nicer grinder like a Timemore 078s, or Niche Zero

An espresso set up for my wife [$1,000 - 2,000]

I just had the best Americano on my fellow series 1 and opus 2 grinder. Great set up and walks you through it. Every “budget” machine has issues, I started with a bambino, want to get good at espresso start there, want to get past all the frustration and tinkering don’t start there. My suggestion lo

First espreso machine

You mean the semi automatic Series 1? It’ll be a great machine but obviously it ain’t manual, so a lot of things will be done for you. It’s convenient, but it won’t necessarily be teaching you much, if you want to learn the more manual approach should probably look at something in E61 range. If not
