I have a bambino too (although mine is a plus) - i recommend getting a new tamper. I got one that automatically levels itself to the basket rim, and it also has a spring so i tamp with the same pressure everytime. Helped a ton with consistency. Besides this, you'll want a grinder. I picked a Eureka

What is it you are trying to achieve by upgrading? Is it good/great espresso with a more pleasurable ritual of making it? Or the unattainable but noble quest of making the perfect espresso? If it is the first of those, i think getting a prosumer dual boiler is justified. Once you step into the Profi

Can you please explain what grinding finer would do? I have a eureka mignon specialita and the dosage and output are about perfect - 38-42g in 30 seconds, but I’ll also notice random spraying. Makes my machine and me messy so I’d love to know what is causing it

i feel you on the rabbit hole. for €1500, the Lelit Mara X + Eureka Mignon Specialita is a killer combo that handles milk drinks well. or save a bit on grinder with the DF64 and put more into the machine. biggest beginner mistake is cheaping out on the grinder - your budget split should lean toward

Yes, the Eureka Mignon Specialita is widely considered the gold standard for mid-range home espresso grinders, particularly if you prefer a hopper-based workflow over single-dosing. It is best known for its near-silent operation, compact industrial design, and commercial-grade 55mm flat burrs that p

no idea your budget, but eureka mignon specialita is working well for me on espresso and pourover (got ARO espresso dial so can switch grind widely and consistently with no problem, also got single-dose hopper from them because i switch between pour over and espresso on a whim)
