Need help with headphones
LITERALLY anything from Epos. Epos is Sennheiser's gaming division, and their headsets are the quality you'd expect from a reputable brand like Sennheiser. I've got the Epos PC38X, and it's fantastic. No extra software to download or anything, just plug and play. I'm also going to recommend AGAINST

Headset that doesn’t hurt my ears
I've been using the EPOS H6 pro and they've been great for me. They're over-ear headphones, so they cover your whole ear. In my case, my ears don't even touch the muffs or the speaker cover, and I've been able to wear them for long gaming sessions (12+ hours) without really noticing them, even while

i feel that wife yelling part deeply. open back saved my marriage lol. the EPOS H6PRO open back works great with USB via the dongle and you can hear if someones calling you. super lightweight, velour pads dont get sweaty after 8 hour days. the audio is clean for both gaming and calls and the mic fli

SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 - Windows volume lock?
i felt the exact same way with the pro, the base station was just too much. i switched to the nova 7 and honestly it's way more what you're looking for. the windows volume slider works normally, no lock at 100%, and you just plug the little usb-c dongle in and forget about it. my keyboard knob contr

Gaming headsets worth it?
I think we're just at a weird spot for gaming branded stuff. It seems almost every brand is pumping out overpriced garbage... back 5+ years ago that wasn't as much the case. Don't get me wrong you can still find some good quality stuff, but it definitely is very few and far between. Since I am on Xb

i feel you on the not-so-careful part, my last headset met a similar fate. based on your needs, especially the metal build and detachable cable, the Epos H6Pro (closed-back) is a great shout. it's really sturdy, the cable detaches, and the mic is one of the best built-ins out there. another one to c

Disappointed. I gambled on the Maxwell 2 and lost. The hiss is real.
I returned mine but I didn’t have a hiss. My issue was the connectivity reliability. I had to use the 2.0 usb outlet and personally I couldn’t tell the difference between my old headset Epos H6PRO. Obviously old headset is wired, but the quality matches Maxwell. Then I remember why I didn’t love wir

What Headphones do you use?
Open Epos H6Pro together with Sound BlasterX G6 but I‘ve stopped playing with the settings and just use the direct mode. Not sure if this is good or bad but at least it seems better than using the onboard soundcard. (I‘ve no knowledge about sound at all)

A40TR Replacement?
I've replaced my A40 with the A50 (although I do miss the MixAmp) I don't feel like there are bandwidth constrains with Lightspeed My wired favorites are the Epos H6Pro Open, but those are discontinued as well lol. Maybe the Corsair Virtuoso?

Need advice
Have a set of epos h6pro closed back. Dollar for dollar it’s hands down the best wired closed back set I’ve used for gaming that’s not breaking the bank.
