It's actually pretty simple. Neptune 4 Max is not supposed to print out of the box. It requires setup and calibration by the user. A1 setup is done at the factory (although it's not individually calibrated).

if you havent gontten rid of your neptune 4 max and stopped using it because of it being "janky" consider using the open source firmware "open neptune" and consider using silicone heatbed parrts to replace the springs i went from my neptune 4 pro not being worth my time to printing tons of stuff eas

I have two Neptune 4 max and I love them when they work. Not much adjustment and large enough to pump out helmets and armor. Plus I’ve taken them apart so many times I’m pretty confident in my service skills now.
