I am 99% sure this is the problem. I have a M5U and it does not like to print when in the garage during cold temps. I got the Elegoo heater and it helped a lot but I agree a Brewers belt would do the same for cheaper. Or moved inside.

What’s the go-to printer?
I'm a fan of the tilting vat printers since they apply less peeling force to the film and they're generally faster. (Prusa, Elegoo Mars 5 Ultra, Saturn 4 Ultra.) They're more forgiving on supports, which are a huge learning curve coming from FDM to resin. The Saturn has two variants, 12k and 16k. Th

Entry level 3D Printing
Saturn 4 Ultra (commonly S4U) in 12k or 16k is going to be the easiest printer to get started and successful prints from for a new user. The Mars 5 Ultra is the smaller version with all the same features as the 12k, just different resolution and build volume. The tilt release system eliminates 12-16

Torn between Mars 5 Ultra and Saturn 4 Ultra 16K because of heating
The elegoo mini heaters work just fine, it's 5c where I am right now and I've just processed a print without issue (on my jupiter SE, but I also have an M5U with the same heater) Another thing to consider though is build plate size, M5U is pretty tiny so you'll be limited with how much you can print

Mars 5 Ultra
I did this exact upgrade and, almost a year on, it's more hit than miss. My Mars 3 Pro was a beast and super reliable. Mars 5 Ultra requires a bit more thought and tinkering when it comes to supports and STL placement. The tilt vat does speed things up, but it creates different pull forces in the va

Which ABS Like resin have you had the best luck with?
The anycubic and sunlu are the joint best I’ve used, siraya next and elegoo 3 followed by elegoo 2 were the least good. M5u Colour/transparency seems to make no difference

Best choice for tiny figures?
Mars 5 Ultra. All Elegoo tilting vat printers (latest Ultras) vastly simplify the learning curve for exposure settings because a lot of esoteric settings (like lift speeds) just no longer apply. They have a reduced peeling force compared to traditional resin printers, which somewhat reduces the need

Anything i should know before buying the Mars 5 Ultra?
Make sure to get protection on it because 3 months in my M5U just decided my prints shouldn’t look good anymore and elegoo support has been horrible. I’m sure my experience with it isn’t the status quo, but better safe than sorry. When it’s working it prints like a dream! Oh also make sure you have

Fep film, big mistake.
In this case it's correct though. The M5U comes with FEP by default. No idea why Elegoo did that, considering they've moved to PFA for their other machines.

First resin printer
I started with an original Mars and fairly recently upgraded to the M5U. It died in 2 weeks (wouldn't turn on) and I was able to exchange it at the retailer I got it from. I've been using Elegoo ABS-like 3.0 8k resin and the prints have been very good. The Satellite software is a mixed bag. It's eas
