Looking to start an open mic night
Too many variables. You’d be better off finding the venue first and buying equipment based on the room. We also need to know your budget and what you consider killing cost. Since you mentioned, I am a big fan of anything Electro-Voice. All the new mains and sticks talk to each other and you run your

Upgrade suggestion for solo singer/guitarist
My first suggestion is to look at a 12" column like EV Evolve 50M. Adding another EON can help with coverage, but won't add a lot of overall volume...you're not going to be able to get to the back of a larger crowd with two EON's vs one EON. You will be able to cover a much wider area with a pair at

PA recomendations for small wedding (50 people +- 10
Got it. Running 'normal' plug-in PA speakers off of a battery power station will have a lot more performance for less money. Upside of a battery powered speaker is the convenience of a 'all-in-one' self-powered in PA speaker and size/weight (vs having speaker plus additional battery power station).

My first thought is something like EV Everse 8 or QSC CB10. Battery powered speaker with a small onboard mixer. Both have a couple inputs for a

Recs for outdoor farmers markets (150-200 people)?
Are you 'the focus'? ...will you be on a stage or is it more of a background music gig? My first thought was JBL EON One MKII, I had a pair, worked well enough for what they are. Decent mixer and app control, had a few glitches with JBL forced firmware updates years ago, but they said they wouldn't

Looking for a battery-powered PA / single speaker for outdoor fire & LED show – what do you recommend?
You’re on the right track. For a music-first outdoor show, one good battery PA now and a second later is a solid plan. In the US and near your budget, the Electro-Voice EVERSE 8 is the most balanced “first unit”: loud enough for 50–150 people, weatherized, musical voicing, app control, and true-wire
