Just got Fiber and the technician said my old Orbi router won't work with the new internet. Is this true?

Can't say for certain about compatibility, but the Eero Pro 7 has wifi 7 while your orbi only does Wifi6 so technically that Eero will be better overall as its wifi mesh can handle more more devices at higher speeds.

An Orbi setup is fine. Frontier just can't (won't) trouble shoot a customer provided router. Eero Pro 7 has wifi 7 and may be a better router, but your existing router is compatible with Frontier.

FYI: Plume is stopping all Direct-to-Consumer business as of August 22nd 2025

IDK how many others are ISP only sales besides some of the big ones like Calix, ADTRAN, Nokia (at least in the US I've never seen a Nokia router for sale, but my ISP used to use a Nokia gateway router/ont combo unit). They switched a few months ago to using Eero for their CPE. Eero isn't selling ONL

Advice For Replacing Eero

i moved from eero too. with 3gig fiber you want a cloud gateway fiber or udm se. the cat5e will cap at 1gig anyway so dont stress the 3gig. grab three u7 pro units - one per floor. hardwire each if you have cat5e runs already. if not, the u7 pro mesh works but wired backhaul is better. the eero was

Don't bother. It doesn't work for me on 970s in mesh either. I getting ready to ditch mine. Nothing but issues for almost 8 months and tech support sending new a firmware and nothing working consistently. Frequent drops, now testing eero pro 7 same locations and a little slower but haven't had a dro

Ok whats the best home network mesh system i can get to get the absolute best wifi calling and be able to 1 or 2 outdoor wifi range extenders?

Your current setup (XB8 + xPods) is not true mesh (more like extenders) so it's not surprising you are having issues. Sources say that these two products are at the top of the mesh heap: Performance: Eero Pro 7 Value: TP‑Link Deco BE63 Placement is key, you need to place the mesh satellites in a spo

You 2000 WI-FI 7 Router - Which WI-FI booster works best?

Unfortunately the YouFibre hub is a downgrade, compared to the reliable Eeros. I kept the Eero's and originally replaced the YouFibre Hub with an Eero Pro 6e, though I now swapped it to an Eero Pro 7. Eero’s work good with You2000; If your building a 2 Gbps wired network you need any Eero 7, but ide
