No one warned me about the slippery slope
Been using the Edfier R1280T for quite a while and desperately needed an upgrade. I read a few good things about KEF and decided to try the Q150s. I also ordered the LS50 meta to get an idea of what “real” speakers sound like.
Well, unfortunately a subwoofer won’t work in my townhome and would very

It’s the Fluance RT85 worth the $500 ? This would be my 3rd turntable
IMO, you should be upgrading your speakers at this point. What is your current turntable? The R1280 are PC speakers that do okay for music, but they're not Hi-Fi speakers. The sound signature isn't quite as extreme as say Beat headphones, but it's definitely very bass heavy, and that bass clouds the

is this a good turntable from target
I’d like to spend less than $200 but if necessary i could bend the budget a little AT-LPW30 $199 on sale. Plus Dayton Audio starter powered speakers instead of Edifier R1280: Compact 4" for a small room or desk $89 https://www.parts-express.com/Dayton-Audio-Classic-B40A-Powered-Bookshelf-Speaker-Pai

New turntable
LP60X and Edifier R1280 are both the bare minimum, turntable lacks adjustments and lacks a removable cartridge. Pass on the bare minimum if you can.

Help a clueless girl
For around the same cost as the small basic 4" Edifier R1280, better larger 6.5" Dayton Classic B65A $159 and they add Bluetooth as an input!

Good beginner setup?
Do not pay $99 for the Fluance phono preamp, it's not worth that much. The better Magnat Monitor speakers have a built in phono preamp! Pass on the bare minimum Edifier R1280 that are often paired with the bare minimum AT-LP60X if you can't afford anything good. Ignore people saying buy them because

What is the consensus on this system? Worth it? Gimmicky?
Pass on powered towers. Pass on Fluance powered speakers. Pass on Fluance PA10 phono preamp. Speakers and amplification: You have Edifier R1280 speakers? Upgrade the speakers first for the most improvement in sound quality. What is your room size LxW feet? Three way dual 6.5" Wharfedale Diamond 240

Help please, Edifier R1280T speaker isn’t playing loud enough
Hi! I just tried to update my record player and speakers from my crappy amazon one. I got a Fluance RT82 and Edifier R1280T bookshelf speakers.
From everything I saw, with those speakers you didn’t need to get a an amplifier. But, I set everything up and tried playback and the volume level is so l

Audio-Technica LP70XBT for first turntable?
AT-LP60X and Edifier R1280T are both the bare minimum. AT-LP70X has a better stylus and cartridge however like the 60X it still lacks adjustments. Ideally get a turntable with a better tonearm with adjustable tracking force. If you must start with bare minimum Edifiers then R1280DBs add Bluetooth, d

Fluance RT81+ OR RT82?
Get the better RT82 with the speed sensor for lower wow and flutter and speed variation and the speed won't drift over time. The older RT80, RT81 and the RT81+ don't have the speed sensor. If you are looking for better sound quality then upgrade your speakers when you can since the basic low cost en
