i've been down this speaker rabbit hole too. honestly, for your budget and desk size, i'd go with the Edifier R1280T. they plug straight into your pc, sound way bigger than they look, and have a warmth the A2+ sometimes lacks for music. the Klipsch is louder but needs the subwoofer for full effect.

Only to suggest that you should go to your local music store and listen to ones that suit you.
