Turntable setup upgrade?
You need speakers first, not another turntable. It kind of boggles the mind that you’ve been listening to records through a tiny usb speaker for 3 years. That turntable has a built in pre-amp so get a PAIR of speakers and some stands for them. Your world will drastically change. Get some active spea

What are the best desktop speakers?
If you want the buy once, stop thinking about it picks under $100, I’d keep it simple. Edifier R1280T (or R1280DB if you want Bluetooth) - best all around desktop speakers in this price range solid build good volume won’t randomly annoy you.Creative Pebble Plus 2.1 - cheaper, surprisingly solid and

38 year old male - looking to get into vinyl…
Ok. That could buy you a basic turntable (e.g. Audio Technica AT-LP60X) and a pair of powered speakers (e.g. Edifier MR3/MR4 or 1280). But if I were you I would save a bit more.

Dove feet first into my first semi (or full?) HiFi audio system and I've never experienced anything like this in my life.
EDIT: Edifier is running a combo deal to get started all-in for $139. Original: You could start (new) for about $250, plus about $15 month for a streaming subscription. Check out r/budgetaudiophile. But here’s where you could start: • Powered speakers like Edifier 1280T for $149. Powered means they

Which of these is worth it?
I'll start off with the 'definitely not' choice. This prize goes to the Victrola Harmony. The deck is a beefed up version of the suitcase record player mech. Although they put a bigger platter on it, and fitted to tonearm with an Audio Technica AT3600L cartridge (similar to the one fitted on the LP6

The fall off vinyl quality - just my thought
I think across multiple Reddit posts, Fluance RT82 is mentioned as a good “get it, set it and forget it” kinda system. If you care zilch about aesthetics and just reliability, audiotechnica’s AT60X is as reliable and affordable they get, If you are starting out. I’m operating on the assumption that

I would love some advice please!
The turntable will be fine - especially as it's free. If you want to spend your budget now, get a pair of powered speakers like the Edifier 1280 models. Stretch your budget as far as possible. You get what you pay for with this stuff. Then just buy some records and enjoy the experience. That will do

Decent starter?
Ok. An AT-LP120X is about £250, sometimes less: https://www.richersounds.com/audio-technica-atlp120xusb-silver/ And a pair of Edifier speakers starts at about £100: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Edifier-R1280Ts-Powered-Bookshelf-Speakers/dp/B087C167NY
