I would say their higher tier stuff is okay. But $700, if I wanted powered, I'd just jump up to a pair of Dynaudio LYD 5s. Or go passive.

I got two Dynaudio LYD 5 and they were 500 each. They sound amazing at really low and really high volume.

For 800 there is a lot of mid level choices. I would recommend Dynaudio LYD-5 or LYD-7 or Focal Alpha EVO 65 or Yamaha HS 8. As for what else I tried, I tried the entry level barefoot 3-Ways, Kali IN 8v2, Dynaudio obviously and a Focal pair

You can have bigger monitor. Like 34'', 45'' curved or bigger 16:9 32'' or 43''.And you can get better sound monitors. Like Genelec 8341 aw if you have high budget or Dynaudio LYD-5(white colored) if you don't want to spend 4k on sound.
