Should my speakers be farther apart?

"I will be sitting at that desk mostly. Thanks!" So here is the tricky problem. How far apart you want them while sitting at the desk and how apart you want them while sitting in the room are two different answers. You can't optimize for both. In the room, they don't look far enough apart if you're

Kali Audio IN 8 v2 or Dynaudio LYD 48? Can’t decide!

I personally like the sound of the LYD 48 a lot (and Dynaudio in general), but the Kalis are just the better deal here. In my opinion, the LYD series’s build quality and lack of features just does not justify their price. Check out the enclosure up close, it’s just kind of cheaply made. So is the Ka

Dynaudio LYD 8 for $725 or LYD 48 for $1750

Generally speaking 3-way monitors tend to be more revealing as the work/frequencies are spread out over three speakers allowing each to work more accurately in its defined range. Lyd-7 with a sub is also a good option as you get the best of “3-way” by taking some work away from your 7” speaker and y

Speaker Recommendations? (PA vs Monitors)

I got two Dynaudio LYD 5 and they were 500 each. They sound amazing at really low and really high volume.

Studio monitors for casual music enjoyment

For 800 there is a lot of mid level choices. I would recommend Dynaudio LYD-5 or LYD-7 or Focal Alpha EVO 65 or Yamaha HS 8. And add IK multimedia ARC studio to use automated room correction.Or you can take IK Multimedia iLoud MTM MKII monitors - those come with internal room correction and have cor

Does different size of the same studio monitor generate different frequency response and does that matter?

Absolutely. My HS80ms are so scooped from 200-400hz. I ended up high passing them around 180hz and running a Klipsch subwoofer which was a goddamn revelation. These days I use Dynaudio LYD 5s and Headphones at home, and Dynaudio LYD-48s (sideways configuration) with a Dynaudio LYD-18S subwoofer, wit

Studio monitor advice please

I second this wrench. The dedicated midrange driver makes all the difference. To match the sound quality with Dynaudio you’d have to upgrade to LYD 48.

I'm looking at your budget and it adds up to around $4000, which gives you some options. First, the biggest thing that sticks out at me about your two possibles are the price points for the turntable and cartridge. Spending $2k for a TT but only $100 for your primary means of pulling sound off your
