Generally speaking 3-way monitors tend to be more revealing as the work/frequencies are spread out over three speakers allowing each to work more accurately in its defined range. I’d look at the dynaudio LYD 7’s or 8’s. I had a pair with the matching LYD Sub and it got me great results. I now use the lyd48’s and went with the presonus 10” sub and have had no issues.

Eventually I’ll get a Dynaudio sub, but I didn’t want to do that until I knew a sub was what I needed to round out the sound. Previously I was unsure about the tonal balance of the LYD 5s even though I had it setup in what sounded best to me. I picked up a great condition and gorgeous cherrywood Era
