There is a difference with speaker design and EQ. The NS-10's and auratones are closed back speakers. Makes them really TIGHT in the transient response but no real lowend. I would suggest going three way. In my experience the difference between any two way monitors is much less when it comes to detail. Get a pair of used flagship three way monitors from 5-10 years ago for the price of the Neumanns + the Sub. To me my sub is more about the feeling when producing than a

Dynaudio BM5a or Lyd series. Sounds great, more bass than you might expect, but not floppy or distorted bass.

i would mostly look at nearfield studio monitors. what you get will depend on your budget. a good all rounder that can be gotten cheap are some used Dynaudio BM5A's. iLoud MTM's are also great for their size and inexpensive. i'd also look at Kali. looking for better ? Consider the Genelec 8351.
