Not only is it required by most landlords, if a studio ever wants to do work for a large company or take a remote gig as a 1099 entity working off site those companies will almost certainly insist on liability insurance. In my State a $2million liability policy naming the hiring company as an "addit

I first saw my current speakers at the Audio Engineering Society convention in 2014 or 2015. I never had a "favorite design", but rather favorite loudspeakers for different applications. Small nearfield speakers can't and never will replace large floor-stand or soffit mounted mains. Nearfield speake

From around 400-500Hz (the exact point is called the Schoeder Frequency) down to 20Hz, the geometry of the room you are mixing in is more responsible for the low end reproduction than even the monitors. Most small monitors don't reproduce much below 60-70 Hz, so you couldn't hear what was going on d

I used Dynaudio BM15a as my primary monitors from 1998 until 2021. I knew them, I knew their limitations, and I thought they pointed out my own limitations. I installed an Atmos system in 2021 with JBL M2s as LCR. Even though the JBLs are 12' from mix position and the Dynaudios lived on stands right

You won't get as much speaker from Genelec as you would from Kali or JBL for that budget. If you can find a good pair of Dynaudio BM15A used for that price, that would be sweet.

I had a whole reply composed and lost it, but having just googled Event Opals to learn their specs, I see that Sound on Sound listed ATC SCM20 as being comparable. I own a pair (coupled with a sub) and can vouch for their quality. For slightly more, you could get Genelec 8341, or for less, Genelec 1

I saw a lot of people drooling on about the sound design. I’ve played the beta in a studio on Dynaudio BM15A’s on all sound settings and while there are sound design constructions and sfx that are pretty good (some are even very good), the whole audio mix and reverbs are super muddy. Weapon sounds a

A lot of monitor selection comes down to preference and how one listens. Ideally, you would audition these speakers. I listened to SCM12 and SCM20 in my search for better monitors and ended up with SCM20. Maybe you can contact ATC and inquire about replacement parts availability for T16. I haven't h

I have a set of KRK 13000B (when still made in USA , early 90s Studio speakers) the midrange speaker are Focal’s, I still love the clear mid/high range of those speakers. Dynaudio Acoustics are studio speakers the BM15A are very good, the AIR series (what I have) are more used for 5.1 studio use. I

I love my studio Dynaudio (Acoustics) Air set. Love to have some Dynaudio HiFi in my livingroom. I hesitate to buy the Heritage special bookshelfs. I am too used to studio speakers so a set of BM15A would also be a choice for me too.
