Take a look at the Deuter Speed Lite Pro 25L pack. Perfect for long day hikes. I have one and it's the best day pack I've ever owned. Light, comfortable, extremely durable, nice design, plenty of pockets, and $130.

Quick question -- should a basic hip belt ride up and sit higher on your waist than a padded hip belt?
