I was wondering the same, My Dell XPS 9570 works brilliantly on linux? Even the fingerprint sensor and all work flawlessly, thats the niche things I expected I'd have issues with

Dell XPS 9570 worked well with Ubuntu. I think Fedora KDE runs just a bit better and cleaner from my experience between both. You really can't go wrong between either choice. Moved Alienware X15 R2 to Fedora KDE last year. No issues. Dell and Lenovo usually fair well with Linux out of the box.

Dell is generally the best out of the bunch. Don't let that prick bully you into W11, its a buggy ad-infested data collecting mess. If your PC was designed for 10, likely best to stay there. I hear nothing but issues with W11 and I rollback anytime it sneaks the update in. Absolutely a red flag when

I'm unsure of your budget so I'll tell you what I did and how much I spent; if you're looking at a gaming/workstation laptop ill assume a conservative 1k given you're buying new. I run an intel n100 as my main pc with a ThinkPad T14s AMD gen 1, both of these cost me 250 in total. for compute, I have

I have been in the it industry for close to 30 years, so I feel I have a good handle on what I need internally... I was looking to get some insights on form factor experience. Given the point of comparison is a 2018 model that's two chassis back (the XPS 9570) even the 16" will feel quite a bit thin

Yes, I own a Dell XPS 9570, ordered original genuine Dell battery from them, top notch service and product quality. Same as ordering from Dell but with better support and faster.

First, you don't discuss what you need it for, and why you're upgrading now. This is important, as other than the size this will drive a lot of the decision. If you don't need the highest-power processor and/or a high end dGPU (and you're US-based) DellRefurbished is selling the Precision 5570 for a

To add onto this older Dells are quite good, I've been using an XPS 9570 for quite a while now on linux just fine, I prefer the aluminum frame of the XPS to plastic of other laptops

I've had a Dell XPS 9570 since 2018 and I still don't need to replace it. Just gotta clean the fans out once every few months. Still the original charger. I'm actually impressed with the machine. Didn't expect it to last 5 years let alone 7+

I purchased an iFixit replacement battery a few years ago for my Dell XPS 9570. No issues. I struggled to find a genuine Dell. The main issue is the battery management interface playing nice with Dell.
