Is it possible to run an M1/M2 macbook air logic board independently?
Yes! Exactly that. The Air’s throttling is fine. My use won’t be heavy loads. Web browser, soft phone, and a few apps. That’s it. Right now I’m stuck lugging an XPS 16 9640. They spoiled me with the Core9 Ultra and 4070 but… I very much do not like Windows.

New XPS 13 Completely Frozen
This. I have the XPS 16 9640 so basically the same laptop but chungus version. When the system is in this severe of a hard-stop crash, it takes an awkward amount of time holding down the power button for the system to fully power off.

Status of running Ubuntu on Dell XPS 16 9640?
On XPS 9640, the linux support is quite poor. Ubuntu 24.10 is mostly okay, but has many problems (depending on the Bios version long boot time or sometimes it does not boot at all). Sound issues with gaming on the Nvidia card. Unfortunately, Ubuntu24.10will be discontinued in less than a month, and

Status of running Ubuntu on Dell XPS 16 9640?
I think XPS 16 9640 is significantly different than the previous XPS 15 models, and this is because you have no problems. But the XPS 16 is simply problematic with Linux (I am running Linux on mine since about November last year. It was not perfect but I can manage it).

My DELL XPS Tried to Cook Itself in My Backpack Again
I have a XPS 16 and sleep mode doesn't work ... But hibernate doesn't seem to work either. Dell needs to prioritize and fix this.

Dell XPS 16 : should I pull the trigger ?
To quote Biden and Kamala, "don't."I have used Dell laptops (XPS) and still have a Dell XPS 9340 Intel Ultra 7 155h laying around, catching dust.Laptop + Windows + Dellis a death combo, and I know what I'm talking about. Dell always installs its software, which messes up the system; it updates the B

It's insane how bad Windows got over the years
The worst part is the fact that a lot of these really premium laptops like dell xps or asus expertbook depend on a lot of drivers that are not available on linux, so you can’t really switch without losing some hardware functionality (like touchscreens, high def webcams, hifi audio, etc).

Status of running Ubuntu on Dell XPS 16 9640?
I ran it on my previous XPS 17 and that wasn't any issues, but seems XPS 16 9640 has been a bit problematic... Have you ran on a 9640?

Why nobody is buying or recommending Dell XPS for Linux anymore?
I have an XPS 16 9640. After more than one year, Linux is still has issues. The webcam works on almost no distribution (even if it does than the quality is not ideal) - intel IPU6 drivers are poorly suppoerted. There are sound problems as well.
