Use web sites like notebookcheck for reading about selected devices - they give info about things like thermal throttling, etc. Don't use one source - try to collect as many as possible (but try to concentrate on numbers, not reviews "this is nice looking and repairable laptop. bye"). XPS14 at least

You can option Thinkpads with very good screens. Most lines are available with top-of-the-line display options - OLED and IPS. Even the cheap E-series can be specified with a 120Hz, 100% sRGB 2.8k screen these days, and any T- and P- series can be had with color-accurate hi--res display options. P1

Posting on this thread in case anyone is still looking for an XPS14 in 2026 as I've owned and used one for a year now for many different purposes, and I believe I can speak pretty well for it. DO NOT GET AN XPS 14. DON'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO GETTING ONE. In my experience, the XPS14 has been absolutely

I’ve used Dell XPS laptops for a very long time, but this is the first time I’ve encountered a gap like this. I have never had to make this kind of modification with my XPS 15 9510, XPS 16 9640, or XPS 14 9440. I’m truly satisfied with Dell products.

I would start with SolidWorks certified Laptops first.https://www.solidworks.com/support/hardware-certification/ A quick look for XPS shows me only these with no XPS15!https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/compare?variants=xps-14-9440-laptop,xps-16-9640-laptop,xps-13-9345-laptop,xps-13-9350-intel-laptop

So I’m trying to play on a Dell XPS14 (I know it’s not a great gaming rig but with a Core Ultra 7 155H and RTX 4050 laptop gpu I figure it should be able to run the game at minimal settings). This config helped a lot but curious about which in game settings we should run? Also I different things abo

Yeah that’s why I steered clear of the 9530, there was no way it would be able to cool a big 4070 when it struggled to cool the 3050Ti and 1650Ti of the previous 9520/10 and 9500. I do totally understand where you’re coming from, my 9520 used to spin up its fans when doing basic stuff and get stupid

Coming from a 9510. I sent my 2026 xps14 back, down arrow was sticky and left speaker buzzy. Second one arriving today. My 2026 XPS16 which I started with (and sent back) I didn't notice any issues with, wanted to change size. I may end up with a framework after all this. Not because the dells had i

I've been using adapters/dongles on 11-13" models, SD readers are less common on larger models for the cooling they need and XPS14 offering an H-series fits that point of cooling over ports/extra functions. If you use GoPro stuff or such you're going to be using an external reader for faster read sp

XPS 14 9440. Awful laptop. One year old and now it won’t reboot. And I tried everything. No more Dell for me. Ordering my Apple tonight.
