Little worried - Dell Pro 15 Essential

honestly you're not paranoid. Pro 15 Essential is Dell's budget business line so plastic chassis and lighter build are normal. Latitude 3550 and Pro 14 sit higher in the lineup with better materials. for admin work though the Essential is fine - those users dont travel much or drop laptops daily. wh

I am trying to decide between the Dell Pro 14 and the XPS 14. I was quoted $1400 for the Pro and $2100 for the XPS. I am most concerned about storage, durability, life expectancy. Any suggestions?? Thank you!

Glad I can help :) You could definitely do all of that even on most models of Dell laptops. For reference, I got my XPS to finish up working on master's thesis in electrical engineering working on electromagnetic simulations in vegetation, which can take upwards of 30 minutes apice to finish with th

Does Anyone have Experience of Dell Pro 14 Plus Laptop

I have a Dell Pro 14 plus which was issued to me at work about 6 months ago. It's a really good laptop but I haven't dropped it, spilled liquids on it so I can't speak of how durable it is but it's a whole lot better than the desktop it replaced.

Does Anyone have Experience of Dell Pro 14 Plus Laptop

The Dell Pro 14 Plus is a pretty nice and reliable computer. It does have an aluminum chassis. A few of my client's have them. No issues so far. These replaced the Latitude line, so I'd say they are comparable to the Thinkpad line. As far as repairability, I don't know if it's better or worse than a

The Dell Pro 14 is for the grunt analyst. Excel guru, data analyst using Power BI/Tableau, and accountants. This is more durable and will have a longer life expectancy. The Dell XPS is for photography, video editing, and C# programming. Even though in the last 2 iterations they have been well built,

Obviously it isn't correct to say that you aren't missing anything at all. However, again, given that you don't know if you're missing anything or what you would be missing, you won't be able to tell the difference. Both devices will feel like a massive upgrade coming from a 2011 XPS 13. I say that

Does Anyone have Experience of Dell Pro 14 Plus Laptop

i ran into this last month when comparing thinkpads to dells. the dell pro 14 plus has a metal chassis so it holds up ok for drops but not thinkpad level tank. repairability is decent - ram is soldered but ssd and battery are swappable. parts you can find on ebay or dell spare parts. no official spi

Can someone explain why 2k$+ laptop feels like a cheap plastic toy?

Laptops are such a mixed bag in terms of build quality, it drives me nuts. That said, I've liked the models we got our hands on at work recently, the Dell Pro 14 Plus or whatever the god-awful naming scheme is.
