I have the Precision 5680 which (I might be blatantly wrong) has the first haptic dell trackpad, and it's excellent. 90-95% of the Macbook. It has some glitches such as the intensity randomly changing or it doesn't register motion but it happens rarely. I believe the laptops after that (the XPS from

From what I‘m seeing, prioritizing the adapter will allow you achieve full CPU and GPU performance, and you won’t be stressing the battery or VRMs. As far as the VPU crashing, you would want to try download the official Dell Precision 5680 Win11 Driver Pack, boot into Safe Mode, remove all Intel ima

You make some good points. I just want to add for others coming across this post that new is fine if you have the right components. In general, Lenovo and Dell products are well-supported. My 13th gen Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon aura edition is running Linux flawlessly and I didn't even have to instal

My partner recently got a Dell 16" Precision 5680 and it's a seriously impressive machine. Build quality is at least as good as a modern MacBook Pro and performance is very impressive. She does 3d modeling and animation. I'm far from an expert on laptops so I don't really have specific recommendatio

I've had really good luck with Dell Inspiron and Precision laptops. I use an Inspiron 15 for multi track field recording (film and TV work mostly, but some music) and my fiancee has a Precision 5680 for 3d modeling and motion graphics. Both are great machines and I'd gladly take the Precision over a

I recently just bought a Dell Precision 5680… I haven’t been experiencing the Dell Command update crashes as you’ve mentioned. Though, I have no doubt you’ve been having a bad experience with their products. Their QC has noticeably gone down. Do you guys have any Dell Precision laptops that you work

i looked into this for someone else last week. the precision 5680 with rtx 4090 runs at about 80w tgp plus dynamic boost up to around 95w. not a full power desktop 4090 obviously but pretty solid for a workstation laptop. dell keeps it a bit lower than gaming laptops for thermals. you can check nvid

I've been running a Dell Precision 5680 workstation for the past couple years. 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, zero issues. Since the Pro Max is the successor to the Precision series, I'd imagine they will be awesome as well, but who knows.

Not sure where your information comes from, but if you don't go for bottom-of-the-barrel consumer models, both Dell and HP make quality laptops. You'll spend a couple grand on a good one though, no matter who makes it. I still have my Dell Precision 5680 Workstation laptop from a couple years ago wi
