I'm sorry you had such poor luck with it! A slightly newer Latitude 54x0 is on my personal to-get list but I've had some of the older 5000 series and they're very hardy IME. Of course, that was before a chassis redesign as the 5480 say had no trouble with paint and still hasn't been even at 10 years

Laptop specs recommendations

I use Ekahau AI Pro and Visio too due to work requirements. My company gave me a unlimited budget for laptop and since I'm on the road I picked a Dell Precision 5480 with 2TB storage and 16 GB RAM and i9 Intel and I have no issues. I don't survey with the laptop, I use my iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPad

Sorry for the confusion, I probably misread a little too! Thinkpads are a little more than they probably should cost globally. It wouldn't surprise me to see T470P+GeForce for $200 here in the US even though we tend to have lower overall prices. P43S was probably rare either overall or in your marke

Dell and Lenovo both manage to fit optional DGPUs in, e.g. Precision 5480 and ThinkPad P14S. But I would agree that 14-inch workstations are better off without them, mostly because DGPU 14-inch slim workstation is putting 60-100w of componentry in a chassis meant to cool 15-30w.
